In any form of art, everything that encompasses an artist - his or her life, familiar places, and experiences – is mirrored. The inner world, personal history, and everything that has influenced the id of that creative person are revealed. In the case of Antonio Macko, an artist well-known for his black and grey works which mix Italian art with the California West Coast mood, the roots of his influences are well-entrenched in southern Italy, in Monopoli. Yet his creations on skin have been moving across the globe for years now: one piece that stands out among others is his majestic Moses, a tribute to Michelangelo and the biggest representation of this famous tattoo artist’s style.
Antony Flemming will be attending the 11th International London Tattoo Convention at Tobacco Dock, Sept 2015
"He started tattooing almost by chance, something he openly admits. The bottom line is that Antony is hooked on tattooing. This art has become his reason for being, but Antony is still in the "honeymoon" stage with tattooing: he's still looking for a style which fits him like a glove. All the same, he certainly knows what he wants. And the way we define his traditional doesn't seem to bother him at all, maybe because he knows that it's our own dreams which make reality even more beautiful."

Our Artist of the week is David Corden, he will be attending the 11th International London Tattoo Convention Sept 2015.
He hails from Kent in England but now works in Edinburgh where he opened his first shop 'Semper Tattoo'. His trademark style is a realism that verges on hyperrealism. Tattoos like luminous colour photo portraits, pieces with the old-fashioned charm of the navy, classic trad pin-ups, and what look like marvellous reproductions of paintings on skin.
A taste of history, ancient times and legends lingers in the works of Carlos Torres, one of the most important interpreters of realism in black and grey today.
