The March of the Matryoshkas

The London Tattoo Convention are thrilled to reveal our latest exhibition, 'The March of the Matryoshkas', a charity art project featuring 90 of the world's finest tattoo artists.

Curated by travelling tattooer Stef Bastiàn, the exhibition composes of several sets of Russian nesting dolls, or 'Matryoshka'. Stef has brought together over 80 of the very best tattoo artists in modern times to participate in the exhibition. Each artist received one set of Matryoshka dolls to decorate with absolute artistic freedom - and the result is nothing short of astonishing.

Participating artists are some of the best in the business, with tattooers such as Filip Leu, Chris Garver, Scott Sylvia, Paul Dobleman and Alex Reinke contributing to the project.

Of the concept behind the exhibition, Stef says, "I wanted to see how they would solve this puzzle of an unfamiliar terrain to walk on, and the narrative they would choose".

The results are sure to impress - with a multitude of different creative styles between them, the artists have each made their own unique mark on these unusual canvases.

The art project doesn't end here, though.

After the show, the dolls will be auctioned for charity and the proceeds are going to benefit 'Save The Children'.

This collective wants to make a little difference and guess what - you can be part of it!

Come and see The March of the Matryoshkas at The London Tattoo Convention, 28-29-30th September 2018.
