How can I apply to be an exhibiting artist?

The event is by invite only. To register your interest in exhibiting, you can submit an application here.

Can I get tattooed at the event?”

Yes! Every artist listed to attend will be tattooing live at the event. A full list of those attending can be found here.

How do I book in with an artist?

Some artists will take advance bookings whilst others prefer take walk-up appointments on the day, usually from their own flash designs. As every artist has their own booking procedure, we ask that you email your preferred artist in advance of the event to discuss your ideas. A full list of those attending can be found here, with links to their contact details. 

Please note that many of our artists are in high demand – if you have a specific artist in mind we recommend emailing well ahead of time to enquire. For the best chance of securing a walk-up spot at the event, please arrive early.

How do I buy a ticket?”

Tickets can be purchased online in advance of the event or on the gate. Advance ticket holders will be able to access the Quayside facilities for tea, coffee and food from 10am with access to the venue at 11.30am. On the gate sales start from 12pm.

Is there an age restriction to get a tattoo?”

Yes – in accordance with UK law artists will not tattoo anybody under the age of 18. Consent forms must be filled out prior to getting tattooed and artists will request to see photo ID (passport or driver’s license).

Are children permitted to attend the event?”

Children are permitted to attend and under 14’s go free with a fully paying adult. However, please be advised that not all elements of our show are catered to a young audience. Visitors can expect to see burlesque-style entertainment, bar areas operating throughout the day and as per the nature of our event – expect to see some flesh on show!

We strongly advise that visitors with very young children leave pushchairs at home wherever possible. There are limited lift facilities at the event and crowds are to be expected within the tattoo areas.

How much will it cost to get tattooed?”

Each artist manages their own bookings. Please email your preferred artist/s in advance of the event to enquire.

Can I volunteer as a canvas for a tattoo artist?”

Please contact your desired artists directly to discuss your tattoo ideas – bookings can only be made directly with your artist, not via the convention.

Note that convention volunteers are signing up for event work experience only – tattoo bookings must be made in your own time.

Is there any discount if I am booked in to get a tattoo?”

No – all visitors must purchase a ticket to access the convention. We offer a full weekend’s worth of entertainment in addition to tattooing – check out what’s on here. It’s also a great opportunity to get a tattoo from an artist located much further afield. We have artists attending from all over the world, many of whom are only in the UK once a year for the event.

Can I enter early or jump the queue if I’m booked in to get tattooed?”

No – tattooing is strictly permitted only during opening hours. However, purchasing an advance ticket will allow you to take advantage of the Quayside facilities from 10am and allows you access to the venue at 11.30am rather than 12pm for on the gate sales.

We strongly recommend purchasing an advance ticket if you have arranged a tattoo booking at the beginning of the day.

I am a wheelchair user. Is the venue accessible?”

Yes, however lift facilities at Tobacco Dock are limited. Please ask any member of staff on arrival for assistance and we will be happy to guide you to the lifts. Accessible toilets can be found on both floors of the venue and will be clearly marked on floor plans. 

Tobacco Dock is a Grade II listed Victorian building. Due to the age and structure of the venue, please note that some areas have uneven flagstone flooring and that some of the smaller rooms can become crowded at peak times. Staff are always on hand to assist you in the venue should you experience any difficulties. 

We want every visitor to be able to experience the event to the fullest and will always be happy to provide extra support to wheelchair users where required.

Can I bring a carer, guide or companion to the event for assistance?”

Yes. Carers, guides or companions for disabled visitors enter for free. You will need to supply our ticketing agent with your current DLA letter or a supporting medical document to obtain your tickets. Please email us with this information to book in advance or bring the documents with you on the day.

I have an LTC Live ticket for evening entertainment. Can I still get tattooed?”

No. Our evening tickets allow access to live music, entertainment and bar areas in the Vaults area from 7pm only.

Can I come along even if I don’t have any tattoos?”

Yes! We are proud to have one of the friendliest and most diverse audiences of any tattoo event. We welcome everybody from the most heavily tattooed to the tattoo-curious.
